As a woman in a male dominated industry, what has been the biggest challenge you have faced in your career, and how did you overcome it?

Speaking up and speaking for yourself. Learning that your thoughts and ideas matter is key for me. When I first started joining bigger meetings, I felt I was unable to speak honestly and tended to just agree. Now I have learnt the importance of my agenda.

What changes, if any, have you seen in your field with regards to women in your field?

The rise of women led tech platforms and companies is on the rise and definitely plays a part in inspiring the next generation. The addition of this diversity can also be seen in the positive results these companies have experienced.

How can we attract more women to consider a career in the STEM fields?

Fostering early interest that, this is an industry for me [women] too.

If you were to advise other young women starting their careers in the tech or within the STEM fields, what is the one thing you would say to them?

Your perspective is important. Drive it

When not working, what do you do for fun?

I enjoy spending time with my two dogs and being outside with them. I am currently renovating my home and spend time looking at interior design ideas and DIY tricks.
