In skills training since 2014, when TTI was founded.
As a woman in a male dominated industry, what has been the biggest challenge you have faced in your career, and how did you overcome it?
Perception that young women in tech and engineering trades cannot work as well as men. We skill young women and empower them with necessary grit through life skills and employability skills to thrive in male-dominated work.
What inspired you to join this industry?
The opportunities for technical jobs yet no young African women and men were taking up those jobs due to lack of requisite skills.
What changes, if any, have you seen with regards to women in your field?
Acknowledgement that young women are ably working as welders, electricians, scaffolders, digital / gig online workers just like or better than their male counterparts
How can we attract more women to consider a career in the STEM fields?
Showcasing successful girls and women consistently.
If you were to advise other young women starting their careers in the tech or within the STEM fields, what is the one thing you would say to them?
Be focused, decide on your area, be persistent, stay the course and you will succeed!
When not working, what do you do for fun?
Watch stand-up comedians like Trevor Noah, Stephen Colbert and laugh it off
