Which company do you work for?
Clare Rudo Collections (passion project): for the 9-5, I have worked in diverse industries and companies across the globe
What is your specific area of specialisation?
STEM – Tech
How long have you been in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math’s (STEM) fields?
10+
As a woman in a male dominated industry, what has been the biggest challenge you have faced in your career, and how did you overcome it?
The perception that males are generally more competent or have a better position in the workplaces they dominate is not entirely true. It’s this perception that can sometimes breed imposter syndrome for women and honestly if you are in the industry and hired then best believe that you have more than what it takes to succeed. Believe in yourself and create boundaries early on, in your career.
What inspired you to join this industry?
The future is tech.
What changes, if any, have you seen in your field with regards to women in your field?
Gender diversity is still a topic however the dialogue and actions are moving towards gender and intersectional leadership equity.
How can we attract more women to consider a career in the STEM fields?
Creating healthy inclusive workspaces, engaging women to lead that process and implementation whilst removing stereotypes / hiring bias in the systems/work culture.
If you were to advise other young women starting their careers in the tech or within the STEM fields, what is the one thing you would say to them?
Dare to do!
When not working, what do you do for fun?
Exploring writing again right now and diving deep into new adventures.
